36 Days of Type
36 Days of Type is an annual, Instagram based invitation for creatives to design and share a letter/number for 36 consecutive days. I approached the challenge by defining a process and visual direction: each character was created through a collage-based reconstruction of existing typefaces, utilizing only black ink and white paper. The fonts were curated, aligned, printed, ripped, and restructured to create each letterform. Original photographs were taken on an iPhone 6 and edited with Instagram. The selections shown were later photographed with a DSLR.
