Last October was truly horrific. To partake in the halloween festivities, my roommate and I hosted a horror movie marathon that spanned the entire month. Taking inspiration from grimoires and illuminated manuscripts, I designed an invitation that detailed the event and set the mood. The result was an inexpensive, zine like mailer that was equal parts horror and kitsch.

A foldout poster served as a half-jacket for the booklet.

A short story by the acclaimed horror author, H.P. Lovecraft, provided allegory and disrupted pacing.

Each film was represented by a sigil that was used as the central point of a “spell.”
