Ritual was a month long horror movie marathon that I organized and hosted to celebrate the most horrible month of the year: October. To foster anticipation for the event, I created invitations in the form of a zine.

Inspired by grimoires, each film was encoded into a symbol that later became the center of a “spell,” manifested through unique magic circles that complemented film details. A short story by the acclaimed horror author, H.P. Lovecraft, disrupted the schedule to add depth and allegorically connect to an eclipse motif expressed throughout the invitation.

Limited use of color served as an impactful visual element that also reduced production costs. The invitations were digitally printed with black ink on a luminous red paper, which was also used to produce a folded poster and pseudo-jacket.
